Our Work
Hot Sauce x H_MEW_RK: Home II
Hot Sauce recently collaborated with our amazing friends at H_MEW_RK, a group cultivating a sharing economy of South Asian artists, to produce a fundraiser for the Bangalore Pledge Project. The Bangalore Pledge Project is an on the ground effort to provide COVID-19 aid and relief to marginalised communities in India. The pledge offers food security through stalked ration kits with rice, dahl, salt, sugar, sanitary napkins and the like to daily wage earners outside the aid network. The fundraiser provided a three course meal with regional variations, their lesser known histories, and works by:
award winning interdisciplinary artist Amitesh Grover
comedian, performer and writer Vidya Rajan,
writer, director, and performer Gary Paramanathan,
writer and spoken word performer, Uncle Mohammed,
Hot Sauce: Home Edition
To recalibrate in the era of COVID, Hot Sauce: Home emerged as an intimate gathering to live at the intersection of music, food, and community.
Our first COVID edition of Hot Sauce featured Arjunan Puveendran, a Tamil carnatic musician. He co-produced some works for the Sydney Sacred Music Festival such as Ātma: Music and Movement as well as Bhakti: Art and Devotion. Most recently, Arjunan co-produced Bhoomi: Our Country for Sydney Festival.
